TransformIT Europe 2025: Sustainable construction through innovative processes and materials
BRUSSELS, March 11, 2025 – Building is becoming sustainable. The construction sector is known to be one of the largest consumers of raw materials and energy for the production of building materials. An immense change is gathering pace: Sustainable, reusable and energy-efficiently producible materials and scalable processes are shaping future construction for a greener, sustainable future. Visit us at the transformIT Europe kick-off conference in Brussels.
TransformIT Europe is Europe’s leading cross-industry conference trade show for digital transformation and green innovation. It aims to bring together actionable insights and innovative green technologies in a powerful cross-industry network to help the industry in Europe manage disruption and drive growth.
TransformIT Europe will be held on May 6 and 7, 2025 in Brussels together with the FutureSparks StartUp Expo and the first European Google Developer Group Conference on the future of European AI as a benchmark event for technologies, services and industry solutions in all areas of green and digital transformation as a kick-off conference. From 2026, transformIT will then take place as a business trade fair with an accompanying conference.
Climate change cannot be reversed by using efficient, energy-saving building materials, but it can be slowed down and perhaps even halted. In addition to the materials, the life cycle management of the building materials used is essential for sustainability. This requires various “green indices”. For example, the product’s degree of recycling, recycled content, environmental friendliness, regional aspects, indoor air quality, life cycle impact, corporate social responsibility and responsible environmental management along the product’s entire supply chain.
The European Union has set itself the goal of being economically climate-neutral by 2050. This means a decarbonized building stock by 2050. Buildings account for 40% of the European Union’s final energy consumption and 36% of its energy-related greenhouse gas emissions, while 75% of EU buildings are still energy inefficient. The sooner the construction industry switches to modern, cost-efficient and sustainable materials and processes, the better.
